I love my chico bags! They are the first reusable shopping types of bags I've bought that I really carry all the time and use all the time. (I have at least 8 cloth/canvas bags in my closet that I forget to bring with me). A Chico bag folds into the palm of my hand in its own built-in pouch, and has one of those closed hoops to hang from a belt or key-chain for those who don't carry a purse.
At the moment there is a cute plastic bag monster video on their website. Looks like you can work them them to fund raise for your school or other non-profit. The nylon bags retail for $5.

A council woman in NYC is proposing charging 25 cents for each bag used, plastic or otherwise, that the store supplies to any food customers. She also proposes that the store gets to keep the 25 cents to help negate any retailers' objections. This sounds like a good idea to get the public into the habit of using or reusing bags. _________________ Dedicated to preserving and (re)/creating natural ecosystems.
